Ok I have been hearing all day that the veto could be over ridden as soon as tonight. If so when would the law go into effect. I am assuming that beacuse it sais effective 1June if over ridden today it would still go into effec today? What if it happens later this week?

My biggest beef with Wamp is that he a liar. First on terms he would be in the House, and then on donations he would accept. I have no problem with taking PAC funds, but if you say you won't, don't start taking them. That, and he spends too much money.

I hope we can get someone good to replace Ramsey in the Senate.

i went to a luncheon held for Mr Wamp yesterday and listened to him speak. i really liked what i heard on non-gun issues as he laid them out but when i asked him a non-softball question when he was taking them from the audience he really impressed me. i asked him "govenor bredesen allowed a bill to set on his desk and become law by not signing or vetoing it that reaffirms Tennessee's sovernty under the 10th ammendment, would you as govenor have the courage to enforce that in the event that the federal government pushed unconstitutional laws or bans on our state?" without hesitation he told us that he's the strongest supporter of state sovernty and if DC were to start banning things like right to own a gun (stated specifically) forced healthcare and so on he "would meet them at the state line". he also mentioned the new park carry and resteraunt carry that he whole heartedly supported them and that the park carry with the ability for local ordinances to "opt out" was a good example of the separation of federal, state, and local government in action. while i can't agree with him on the side of the ability to opt out if he supports it (i have to assume he supports it even though he did not mention it specifically and he may not actually support localities opting out nor will i say that he does or does not without asking him i'm simply assuming for the sake of conversation) i have to agree that it is a good example of the seperation of powers as he said but the end result is not the best outcome as we are seeing that there are many different places that are opting out and others staying and it's creating a confusing web of legalities that will eventually cause huge problems for law abiding citizens.

from what i saw and heard yesterday he seems like he's going to be friendly to law abiding citizens and a defender of our right to keep and bear arms.

i just wanted to add that he was interrupted twice during his answer to my question by cheers and applause, once when he mentioned defending our right to keep our guns and again when he said he'd meet them at the state line. we were well represented at the lunch :).

It's looking more and more like Ramsey is the only real choice...

Zach Wamp throws some out at a Rutherford County GOP picnic:

“People have asked me what we’d do if President Barack Obama issued an executive order to take firearms away from the people,” said Wamp. “I’ll tell you what we’d do. We will meet him at the state line!

from what i've read it's definately between wamp and ramsey, the rest of them have no idea what it means to promote freedom.

ramsey is holding a kickoff party for his campaign this thursday in blountvegas (blountville) and i plan on attending and hopefully will be able to shoot some video and maybe ask a couple of questions.

For me, Lt. Gov. Ramsey has a proven record of shepherding legislation that is good for us through the state legislature, and he knows the state legislative process (both formal and informal) and the legislators the best. OMO, YMMV....
