I saw this on TGO and I will make the same commet here.

If TSSAA wants to prohibit carry during thier even and in the area of thier event would it not be legal for them to post at the entrance of that event. If I remimber correctly TCA allows the Owner, manager or operator of the property to post. If TSSAA is holding that even would they not be the managers of the property that they are renting from Rutherford county?

This would still allow open carry in the rest of the park. In my mind this would be no different than a buisness posting even though it is on a public street. Although I belive that I have the right to defend myself anywhere I go I also belive that a property owner or buisness has the right to make that choice for thier property or event. I also have the right no to attend that event.

IANAL either, but I would think they could ban carry during their event under the color of the language "...or agent thereof...." When they sign whatever to use the facilities, they would seem (to me) to assume some sort of proprietary control over the property for the purpose of their event. In any case, TSSAA events are also school events, which are also no-carry under TCA.

I live in Murfreesboro. I am willing to have TSSAA post their Spring Fling events "no-carry" for a few days under whatever works for them to have the City Council allow me to carry in local parks the other 360 days of the year. Perhaps that is not the "purist" view, but I'll take it.

Spring Fling takes place in several parks and venues (including schools). It is essentially all of the spring sports at the same time (minus baseball).
