I would note, there is a difference between showing who holds professional licenses, and which citizens have paid, are law-abiding,. and exercise a human right. These should not be public, nor would we make a public database of those who chose to exercise a certain religion. People would be able to obviously see the problems and questionable moral and legal reasoning that would arise from say, having a list of every local Jew, and people would oppose requiring a license from the state for simply being one. People who exercise a right shouldn't be in a database, be it a religion or a gun.
Professional license's I would say should be public. If my patients want to see that I am a real RN, and whether or not I have been professionally disciplined in the past, they should be able to.
I think any reasonable person can see the obvious difference.
All that said, I think John was pointing out that the CA does not do this with those groups, only HCP holders. No other group is held to the same political scrutiny by the media as we are. THAT is what John was going at, I do believe.
