Len put a lot of thought into his suggestions and over the years I've found he is correct in how few Tennesseans have heard of the TFA.

While raising money and buying ads is a good way to get the word out each of us must tell anyone that will listen what we do and why. Forward the TFALAC alerts to your friends.

Advertising in the NRA magazines sounds good; issuing press releases to the major TN media outlets can't hurt. Each of us can take the time to paraphrase a TFALAC alert and send as a letter to the editor to our local paper (the info on Naifeh's claim on getting a HCP for example).

While TFA Headquarters can provide each HCP trainer with information on our organization each of us can do the same thing in our local areas.

I like the raffle idea for raising PR funds and I'm sure each of our chapters would be a good start on selling those tickets.

Since the legislature has seen fit not to make HCP data private then we should take advantage of their actions and contact HCP holders (starting with non-TFA members) letting them know of our mission and past successes. As Len said, do what we can with what we have. Can't raise enough funds to contact everyone? Then contact those we can fund.

For those that don't want to join try hard to get them to at least sign up for the TFALAC alerts. We need numbers contacting their elected officals whether or not it is a TFA member.

Regarding getting NRA members, I note the TFA routinely gives them free advertising via emails, we ought to stop. If the NRA is unwilling to help us, we shouldn't give them freebies. An offer of mutual help would be good, if they would accept. \

As far as Johns agenda, I would like to hear what Len disagrees with so badly. I think John has done a stand up job for our RKBA in TN, though I fully agree John shouldn't be running it alone.

John knows where I stand and we have agreed to disagree on some areas and have found some common ground in other areas. I suppose, in a nutshell, I am probably more moderate in my views than John in some areas, and I do take a more "living document" view of the US Constitution than John (or many others here) do. That said, I strongly believe the 190,000+ permit holders in TN need a voice and some of our laws need reform.
