SB0023 PASSED IN SENATE 24-6

Postby Pat McGarrity » Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:23 pm

Thanks to TFA Member Vince Hughes for being the first to tell me the good news. SB0023 is our much sought after Restaurant Carry Bill. Note that it was passed in the Senate Judiciary Committee 1-8-08, with the only no vote cast by ultra-leftist Sen. Beverly Marrero (D-Memphis). The 50% rule was added as an amendment:

My thanks on behalf of TFA to the Senators voting for this common sense measure. Especially to those supporting it in the Judiciary Committee; Senators Beavers, Black, Jackson, Kyle, Norris, Stanley, Wilder and Woodson.

Now, the battle moves to the House, where the Speaker, Jimmy Naifeh, has always killed it in committee. Any ideas on how we can make this pass this year?
