OUTDOOR LIFE MAGAZINE: "AR-15 TERRORIST RIFLES"

Nothing disgusts me more than a hypocrite. In this case; an ignorant, bigoted, back stabbing, arrogant, bloviating, hypocrite. Again, we see here, an example of a fellow gun owner who not only will NOT stand up for the rights of all of us, he actually publicly perpetuates the "sporting use" myth of gun ownership.

Jim Zumbo is a professional hunter and outdoor writer employed by the Remington Arms company and Outdoor Life magazine. In the following article he wrote last week, he judges what is acceptable for us to hunt with, or not. I don't hunt much. I'm not against hunting, I just usually don't have the time and money to hunt, but defend Mr. Zumbo's, and anyone else's right to. What many gun owners, in various groups, often fail to realize, is that those that don't believe in our right to keep and bear arms know how to divide and conquer. If more gun owners understood this; in Tennessee, every one of them would be a Tennessee Firearms Association member. Today "useful idiots", like Mr. Zumbo, call my AR-15 a terrorist weapon, tomorrow; one of his media comrades will call his deer rifle, a sniper rifle, or already has.

First, Our God given right to defend ourselves, affirmed in the Constitution, has NOTHING to do with "sporting firearms". Second, considering that local gang bangers prey on innocent victims in packs and often wear body armor, I don't need some prairie dog hunter telling me what tools I can use to protect my family against these monsters. Third, the AK and especially the AR family of rifles are fine varmint hunting and target rifles. Lastly, I don't need a reason to own my AK and AR. I just feel like it, and no thanks to Mr. Zumbo, in America; that's enough.

"Only once in my life have I ever seen anyone using one of these firearms."

Obviously, Mr. Zumbo has led a very sheltered life, and never served in our military, or law enforcement. I often see target shooters at MSSA (Memphis Sport Shooting Association) shooting AR-15s, and most of the time, I'm one of them.

We know what to expect from hypocrite-elitist, gun phobics, like Rosie O'Donnell and Sarah Brady, but when we find a knife in our back from someone who makes their living in the gun industry, it should be a wake up call. We need to work to educate others, to overcome this type of misguided prejudice.

Is it is possible to have less than zero respect for someone? If so, that is where Mr. Zumbo rates with me. What kind of gun we choose to own, is just none of Mr. Zumbo's business!
