Shooting on your own property

Postby FLEWIS » Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:32 pm

I'm thinking of building a range, basically just a permanent target stand and covered bench, on either my own property in Blount County or (with permission) on relative's property in Loudon County. It would have a suitable backstop, backed up by a hillside. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it wouldn't be commercial, just for my own plinking.

Can anyone tell me where I can find information on the laws concerning this for Blount/Loudon counties? From what I understand I'm ok since both locations are in the county and not within any city limits. Are there also laws about being certain distances away from buildings or residences? Anything else I need to know or should do?

Thanks
