Nashville Chapter meeting - Tuesday, Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Our guest speaker is Ken Latham. Mr. Latham founded Safe Harbor Group in January 2016. The mission: to make Emergency Preparedness accessible to families and organizations not normally reached by others in the field.

Prior to founding Safe Harbor Group, Mr. Latham served in the U.S. Army National Guard in Communications, Engineering, Military Police and in Special Operations. While in the Army, he served in a variety of assignments in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and three combat tours in Iraq. He currently serves in the Tennessee Army National Guard as the Joint Emergency Operations Center Supervisor and the Installation Emergency Manager.

Mr. Latham’s professional experience includes twelve years with Sprint’s Emergency Response Team, where he served as the Regional Deployment Manager for the North East and Midwest, coordinating contracts, support operations, and emergency communications planning for local, state, and federal agencies.

Mr. Latham has been instrumental in the response to numerous hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, civil disturbances, and special security events.

Mr. Latham received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Norwich University in 1999 and a Master of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University in 2007. He is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers, and the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee.

Social / meal starts at 5:30pm
Formal meeting time is 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm

Seating is limited to about 100 so arrive early if you want a seat.

Arrive early - 5:00 to 5:30 would be good. Eat in the meeting room if possible and if not, get as close as you can. We will try finishing eating in the meeting room to clear out everything but drinks for the meeting if we have a large turnout.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PAY AT GOLDEN CORRAL AS YOU COME IN FOR THE MEETING IF YOU ARE EATING. TELL THEM THAT AT THE CASH REGISTER THAT YOU ARE THERE FOR THE MEETING AND TO APPLY THE "GROUP RATE" WHICH INCLUDES YOUR DRINK.

You do not have to be a TFA member to attend nor do you have to be a resident of Nashville. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring guests.
