I am considering a purchase of a used Bushmaster M4 A2 post ban. Opinions on this one and price range?

In my opinion, Bushmaster makes a darn good rifle for the money. I have the Bushmaster XM-15 AK Shorty which I bought brand new at a gun show about 3 months ago, and I was out the door at $900.00 even. That includes sales tax and Tennessee background fee. You should be able to get a fair price on a used one, however, it depends on the options and extras that the rifle may or may not have. The condition of the rifle will also be a factor.
I found the exact model I own at the Bushmaster website, and their suggested retail price was over 1,000 bucks. So I feel like I got a good deal on mine. I might suggest to you to visit the bushmaster website and see what they want for a new rifle such as the one you are looking at. Maybe then visit some gun shops or make a few calls, and see if you can find a used one and how much. Then you'll have an idea.
I'd like to also let you and everyone else know, that there is going to be a gun show at the Franklin Factory in Williamson County on November 27 and 28. The gun shows out here are new. This is only the 2nd one. It might be a good opportunity to drum up some support for the TFA out here in Franklin. I hope you can attend.
Now, more about my Bushmaster........ it's a great gun. Fun to shoot. Extremely accurate. Right out of the box with no adjustments, I could shoot the center out of a pokerchip at 50 yards. The owner's manual claims it is pre-adjusted to be dead on at 300 meters, or roughly 1000 feet. The 223 round is so fast, there is not much bullet drop in that range, so it's very accurate at anything within 1000 feet. The manual also claims that the gun can be accurate out to 800 meters, about 1/3 of a mile, but at that distance, it has more to do with the shooter than the gun. I'll probably never have an opportunity to shoot a long distance shot like that as my local range only goes out 100 yards.
But for 900 bucks, I feel like I got a great gun. You looking at a used one, should be a bit less. But again, it depends on the actual gun. There are litterally dozens of variations and options on each Bushmaster rifle.

Post ban and used? I would say depending on the condition: $650 at the most. Of course the lack of a bayo lug, tele-stock and genuine flash hider do not effect the performance of the weapon but they do add a certain panache. Now that the ban has expired, most people want the "pre-ban" features simply because they were denied them for 10 years.
Good luck and if you get a good deal you can always add another upper later if you want.
