Abbreviated morning, had deer on the trail before daylight, could hear them, but they were just shapes. Had to be a bunch of does and fawns, sounded like a herd. They fanned out and started picking up acorns, could hear them rustling through the woods.
As it got light enough to see, a skunk came down the same trail, nosing around the woods lot. I could still hear a few of the deer, and finally a big doe stepped into an opening that I knew to be dead on 100 yards, high lung shot and she dropped right there. I reloaded and watched the others break out and run, another stopped at about 60 yards, and I put her down as well. I was out of the woods by 6:30.
Gave one to the Hunters for the Hungry, the other will be ground for jerky for my nephew in the sand box!
