If it was an "educational issue" then I think we're making lame excuses for Government. I appreciate very much the service of our Guardsmen, but you are also responsible for knowing what you are signing up for. From a civil duty perspective, ever person is morally responsible for knowing at least their basic rights, otherwise, how can they protect any one else's? ("To Protect & to Serve", a widely used Police Motto..)
These people are ALL sworn to uphold the Constitution, as part of their jobs. I am NOT sworn in with the understanding that I am to defend & uphold the Constitution, yet here I am having to do it through every form of media I can get my hands on, because many in Government & it's employees are attacking it.
So, I'm not willing to let them off the hook so easy.. If you swear to uphold the Constitution, it's your responsibility to read it first.. I keep a copy on my person at all times, because I took the time to get a phone application that has all of it in there, & I have a pocket version. Why aren't these cops & guardsmen doing the same as part of their job requirement? I'll tell you why, because by & large this Government likes it's power over the people, & they would rather keep everyone dumb about the constitution. THAT is the truth..
