Posting issue?

Postby StandingTall » Mon Dec 28, 2009 12:45 pm

Why are all of my posts "awaiting approval"? Some have been in this status for around 12+ hours. Is it some sort of probationary period for new members? Just curious about what the issue may be.

Thanks,

When to forum started, we did not have moderator approval for new posts. It has been enabled for users who have less than a determined number of posts. We did this because we found out, as many forum moderators do, that after a period of time your site is attacked by porn-posters. We learned in time that if we restricted new user posting that these porn posters do not return and never reach enough approved posts to get the porn on the site. So, until you hit the approved number of posts then there is a delay until a moderator logins into the queue and clears them. Sorry for the delay but we felt that the porn was not in the bests interests of TFA - even if they had firearms displayed.

That makes perfect sence. That needs to stay off of this forum. I appreciate the quick reply!!! I hope my original post didn't come off as rude. Thanks again,

Nothing to apologize for and its a fair question that deserves and answer. Others will benefit as well.

Remember, too, that this is a volunteer organization. As much as we'd like to be, no one of us are on-line 24-7, or even a small portion thereof!

We're just coming off of a holiday weekend--and many people are also off from work this week, as well.

I'm off work recuperating from surgery, & I'm still on here less than I wish I could be. John's explained the need for the moderator approval; we wish it weren't so, but as one who occasionally has to see it to delete it, believe me when I say we're all better off without it!

Thanks again for all of the replies. David, I hope you recover quickly from your surgery with no issues.
