So I noticed something about that flier tonight and maybe I am just misunderstanding the law (I don't think so since I understand english.)
Under 39-17-1308 section A1 of the TN code it says "
(a) It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 if the possession or carrying was:
(1) Of an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon;"
Therefore, when I read that I understand that a firearm must be unloaded, not CONCEALED on me or in my bag/purse/etc. AND must not be any ammo very near. It's not, you can conceal and not have any ammo around, it's you can not conceal nor have any ammo around (otherwise, in places that don't allow legal carry, I would just unload my gun and take it with me so it would have less of a chance of getting stolen out of my truck.)
So if my reading of the law is correct, isn't number two of their procedure breaking the law unless the person has a carry permit (unlikely unless it's a smart HCP holder who's turning in a $30 .25 gun for the $100 gift card!) since they require you to CONCEAL the gun about your person in a bag?
Gad, what idiots!
