The Johnson City Commission took aim Thursday at recently passed state legislation that would allow concealed carry permit holders to possess handguns in parks in Tennessee and shot down the allowance of these weapons in local parks.

Commissioners present unanimously voted to pass a resolution prohibiting guns in city parks, thus electing to opt out of the state legislation.

Very sad. JC is my hometown. No weapons only apply to law abiding citizens, the criminals will still possess them! I will not visit a park nor a restaurant that has a no gun sign posted!
