Up here in Johnson County, The Mountain City Board of Mayor and Aldermen took up at their meeting last night the proposed resolution to prohibit people with carry permits from carrying in the town's parks (this is just the town, not the county). The mayor spoke against the resolution, one alderman spoke against it, I spoke against it, summarizing the points I had made in a 7/30/09 letter to each of the aldermen and the mayor. (That letter also appeared in a local paper that is distributed by email and as a website ) They then moved on to the next order of business without even voting on the matter. The publisher of B.A.D. Idea News tells me this means the issue is dead.

John, the list of "Cities that have voted not to opt out" in today's TFALAC Alert omits Mountain City. I know we're small, but I like this list to look very long.
