Alcoa Opts out
Posted: Wed Aug 12, 2009 7:59 amLast night Alcoa opted out by unanimous vote. According to the news the room was full of people that wanted Alcoa to follow state law and stay in and could not find one person in the room (besides the council members) that wanted to opt out.
Since Maryville and Alcoa stated they both agreed that they would opt out even when this law was still a bill, I'm not sure they were not having private discussions between the city councils and violating the sunshine law.
