I'll be attending the Independence Rally Tea Party on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Legislative Plaza in Nashville, TN. I've never seen a posting restriction there, but since it's state property is there a statute that will not allow me to carry there? I have a valid Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit.

The entrance (well, some of them) to the Legislative offices is posted. The open air plaza where this public assembly will be held was not the last time I looked. There is not a statute which automatically makes public property prohibited. There are statutes which make specific categories of public property (e.g., courtrooms) prohibited.

For the benefit of others, whenever you have an email exchange such as this that could be important to document, please include the entire email - including date and sender - in the quote.

I wanted to do so, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate to include the details and contact information in a post. Do you feel it would be ok to include the entire body of the final message, which includes names, email addresses, and other information?
