Ammunition purchase bills

Postby sonofagun » Sat Aug 04, 2012 2:50 am

In an expected knee jerk reaction to the Colorado tragedy (that could have been stopped had the theater allowed carry... but let's not let facts get in the way of anti-gun legislation) liberals have submitted bills to require face to face purchases with ID for ammunition so that each sale can be tracked, also, sales of over 1000 rounds in 5 days will get you reported.

In the senate, S 3458, https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/112/s3458

In the house, HR 6241, https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/112/hr6241

Ah the usual suspects. Sen. Lautenberg (D-NJ), and Rep. McCarthy (D-NY), are both well-known anti-gunners. Does the Lautenberg Amendment aka Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Offender gun ban ring anyone's bells ? McCarthy has built her entire career on gun control following the Long Island Railway shooting in which her husband and son were harmed. Her ignorance regarding firearms was infamously demonstrated during an interview with Tucker Carlson. Nevertheless, we must keep an eye on their actions. If these bills are defeated in their own right, they will probably try to achieve their goals via riders on non-gun related bills.

The "high capacity" magazine ban was supposed to be attached to the cybersecurity bill (another horrendous piece of crap). Luckily the cybersecurity bill fell flat, but I believe the high cap ban has it's own bill now. From what I understand, it would put the burden of proof that the magazine was bought before the ban goes into effect on the citizen, not the government. And so much as letting a friend fire your gun at a range with your high cap magazine could put the both of you in hot water. We need to stay on top of our legislators, but that isn't enough, we need to get everyone we know in other states involved as much as possible.

These proposed citizen disarmament bills are outrageous violations of the "delegated powers" UNDER which the Federal Gov't is to operate. The "well-regulated militia" in the 2nd Amendment references Article I, Section 8.15-16 of the U.S. Constitution. Clause 16 states:To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia and for GOVERNING such part of them as may be EMPLOYED in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the dsicipline pscribed by Congress. [CAPS mine for emphasis]

This delegated power to the United States clearly allows them to only GOVERN such part of the militia that may be EMPLOYED in its SERVICE!!! Therefore ALL Federal laws pertaining to arms for citizens are UNLAWFUL--which is the meaning of "shall not be infringed"!!!

"Liberals" are no longer--liberal, i.e, for liberty. Today's so-called liberals are basically fascists or communists, both of whom aggressively disarmed the people. That is also the chief historical aspect of slavery. Slaves were ALWAYS disarmed and kept that way while their rulers were armed. Research the 1857 Dred Scott decision and Judge Taney's reasoning which kept slavery legal in the U.S. That's what today's phony "liberals" want and to which end they work.
