BATF Montana and TN

Regarding the letter from BATF to the Federal Firearms licensed dealers...annulling the TN STATE law regarding intra-state... Did Montanna receive the same kind of "Pooh poohing" from the BATF?

I'm planning on writing the BATFE an email or letter. If I do, I'll post it here also.

Some education on this topic would be helpful at this point - for me. At the risk of condescension due to my being clueless I ask:

What are the specific ramifications for those holding a FFL having to abide by Federal rules rather than TN and Montanna proposals for those situations that would be covered soley by state law ?

If the individual state were left to its own legal positions/laws - would there be sufficient structure?

It is another example of where borrowed laws or "boilerplate" from single sources does not always fit with existing state law. I knew about the conflict and raised it but just don't have enough hours in the day or aside from my job to get to all the legislators necessary to fix these.

So basically we have this great law but nothing has really changed except for us snubbing our noses at the federal government and saying "we got our own laws and you cant do anything about it!"

So nothing has technically changed? Well it gives us another thing to fight for next year.

I have pushed for years for the legislature to quit "patching" the law and rewrite it - all of it.
