The question now becomes how activist are Tennessee courts. We know they ignored the rule of the law on the Safe Harbor provision, whats to say we won't be shafted by ideologues?

So if they can sue becaue the law was passed then that lady whose husband was shot infront of her should be able to sue for not passing the law years ago. We should also be able to sue the city/county the first time somebody gets held up or mugged in a park. It has to work both ways.

BTW, does anyone know his REAL name before he legally changed it as a grown man?

Randy runs a nice restaurant, overpriced but nice. He caters to the "Green Hills" crowd and is sadly misinformed about firearms. At the same time, it could be assumed that his presence on this issue is not so much a concern for his patrons and his restaurant business as it is a step in his walk toward local elected office.

EXACTLY JOHN!, Its called grandstanding, free publicity, they don't actually care, it's an act, for attention and self promotion, once you pop that big puffed up balloon, all you find is HOT AIR! anyone voting for that gets what they deserve and for those who don't well look at national government and know it is important to let the misguided who have votes know the truth, instead of simply dismissing it and being inactive. So is he full of crap ? yes. can he sway the misguided and get an office ? yes.So is it important to uncover his lies and put him in the light of truth? Look at D.C. if you want the short answer to that question.unfortunate in this day and age there seems to be a shortage of conservative ,truth providing television and radio networks, remember H.G. Wells and war of the worlds radio broadcast? Know this ,the uninformed everyday citizen is vulnerable to treachery.Whose job is it to help with this? are you a citizen who believes in the constitution and the bill of rights?

I to saw the piece on channel 5 last night and again threw up a little in my throat. What a bunch of grandstanding blowhards. The new catch phrase they keep trying to repeat is that "guns and alcohol don't mix." They are trying to paint the picture of all gun owners boozing it up in the bars and randomly firing shots ala the old westerns. "Dance pilgrim...I'm packing heat."
As a restaurant owner, this windbag knows that a "no firearms" will alienate gunowners and cost revenue. If he can get the law changed or blocked, he will not have to post the sign and after a period of time gun owneres will forget and patronize his establishment again.
They don't give a fat rat's arse about firearms. It's all about money and getting their mugs pasted in front of a camera.
"It's for the children."

Does anyone happen to know the list of businesses that are together on this possible law suit. It would be nice to know who is with us and who is against us.

One of the properties that I guard is the Courtyard on West End. Any guest at the hotel that asks me about place to eat is never directed to Midtown Cafe, even though it is right across the street.
Even one of the hotel's managers has stopped recommending any of Mr. Rayburn's restaurants.

I was speaking of the coalition SMART-Safe Merchants and Restaurants in Tennessee I keep hearing about them, but do not know who they are. The Suit has two lines that will never fly. One is,"Those with carry permits can still come into restaurants and bars with loaded guns when the restaurants are posted", and the other "That carry permit holders can bring their gun into restaurant and bars after consuming alcohol before they come in". What do they not understand? A carry permit holder can not carry if they have consumed alcohol. and I for one was instructed that you can not carry were posted. I wrote Governor Bredesen before he vetoed the bill that there would be very few if any legal gun carriers that would be going into a Bars late at night or any time, unless on business, to pick up family members, or close the establishment. What everyone does know , how ever, is that unlicensed gun carriers have been venturing into bars since bars have been in Tennessee. And I wonder how many gun tote'ers have ventured into their establishments with out a licensed to carry.

I'm no lawyer but on the surface it seems like a strategicly brilliant move. The lawsuit will be defended by an anti-2nd amendment A.G. who is in the gov's pocket. He then allows the plaintiffs to win and we are right back where we started.

Actually, our AG is appointed by the Tennessee SC, not the Gov.

True, the Supreme Court appoints but he was Bredesen's staff attorney in the Governor's office preceding that.
