I contacted Mr. Haslam and politely asked a few questions.
Question 1: Mr. Haslam as a Mayor are you now or have you ever been a member of MAIG?
Answer: Refused
Your campaign says you are a staunch supporter of Tennesseans Second Amendment Rights. How can you be a "Staunch" supporter in my rights and yet you are a party to the group of people who want to take away our rights to defend ourselves?
Answer: Mr. Hughes thank you for your time> I must go I have a meeting to attend.

He really should be willing to answer questions but the fact that he does not raises concerns.
Actions speak much louder than words....

his actions greatly concern me, the way he's out-spending everyone else for campaigning he's going to be tough to beat unless we can get the message out that he's the wolf in sheep's clothing.

This was via a phone conversation. I would have answered this a lot sooner but have been busy. Sorry about that guys.
I really was in hopes that he would either be a man and own up to being a member of MAIG. Yet he wasn't man enough to either admit to nor deny it. This concerned me. Which I must say I wasn't voting for this guy anyway. I wanted to see how truthful the man was.
Then when questioned on our 2A rights he decides he must go.

I seem to recall that he did not withdraw until at or about the time he announced he was running for the governor's office.

He and his staff are dancing around a straight answer which makes it sound like he is hiding the truth. I won't vote for him.

They do a great job of giving replies that are full of male bovine fecal matter.

I was for it before I was against it, or was it the other way around?

I hate to vote based only one issue, but Ron doesn't seem to be giving ANY info on other issues where Haslam looks good. That may be good enough for many here, but it will kill him if he doesn't commit to something else also.

Haslam seems to be spending a large amount of money in the Memphis area as I'm seeing or hearing his commercials constantly on radio and TV. He hasn't yet explained why he would spend such a large amount of money for the salary of the job he's seeking.

I haven't seen any Ron Ramsey anything in my neck of Memphis. No signs, no billboards... nothing. Ron Ramsey does not exist here, and I must ask why. Why?
