I just voted...

Generally I vote in "early voting"; in fact, today was the first time since moving to my current residence in '03 that I actually voted at my "normal" pooling place!

I proudly voted for Ron Ramsey for Gov although I fear it will be in vain.

If Haslam wins the nomination as most seem to expect (and the polls seem to predict); how "bad" will that be for us in Tennessee? By that I mean, will he, assuming he wins the general election, mostly be a continuation of Phil Bredesem or will we at least see some "improvement" in the Governor's office where firearm issues are concerned?

He is likely "Lamar" style liberal in Republican clothing. I will have to give hard thought to his opposition in order to intentionally create gridlock. I will absolutely considering abstaining from that particular vote.

i voted for wamp in hopes that he was closer to give haslib a run for his money than ramsey, i would have much preferred ramsey but i knew there was no way he was going to win. this election turned out exactly as i predicted several months back that ramsey and wamp would split the conservative vote and pave the way for a "tale of two democrats" general election.

IMO the tea party needs to get it's head together and form both a national organization and state organizations or else it will be just a movement with a lot of bark but no bite. we need to revise how we conservative (republicans) select our candidates in the primaries instead of constantly having to do what we have to do now and vote for someone that isn't what the party is supposed to represent.

It brings back the question of whether the election process in TN, particularly the primaries, should require 50% + 1 to win. We had too many situations in TN yesterday and of recent where the majority of the votes were not for the person declared as the winner.

Time for voters to vote their conscience not just for the one that "can win". Any of the Republican candidates could beat the current Democrat candidate for governor so voting for the TFA endorsed candidate should have been a no brainer.

I've been voting in elections since I turned 18 just in time to vote in the Presidential election of 1972; I've never missed a general election and only rarely have I not voted in a primary even while serving overseas...I've NEVER and never will just "vote for the guy who can win"; especially in a primary - in my always humble opinion, a primary should be about voting what you honestly believe/who you truly believe in; not just voting for someone you hope can win.

I would love to see some of Tennessee's election laws change starting with a purging of the rolls and actually ensuring that those casting votes are eligible to do so and the idea that in a primary, a candidate MUST get 50% plus 1 (and if not a runoff) is a great idea as is closing the Republican primary to Republicans, etc.

I honestly don't know that I'll vote for Haslam in November...I absolutely cannot in good conscious vote for McWherter which leaves me either not voting or doing a write-in of Ron Ramsey which is sounding pretty good at the moment!

I still, as I originally asked above, appreciate an honest assessment of what a Haslam administration might mean to Tennessee gun owners and enthusiasts...whether this will be just "more of the same" or if this may at least be a step forward from what we've had the past eight years.

If you consider Haslams record on firearm issues He will not stand up for us.My only hope is he will at best stay out of the way.As far as voting for him there is no way I could push the button for a Bloomberg supporter.

Thats my point. If we maintain the numbers or improve them will be our only hope.So i would say this election is still very important to us.Most people on this forum are active with their legislators and we have to stay that way.
