"Scads of ammunitiion" and "...police at this point can only speculate as to why Jackson, who had a concealed handgun permit, had so much weaponry...". How about because it was legal to do so?

Right, when is the last time they raided the house of an individual and reported on "scads" of food, or gas or furniture? None of those items are constitutionally protected.
