The NRA not only rated Governor Bredesen as an "A" candidate but this time endorsed him. It's time we held him accountable for his party's sheenagan's in the Tennessee House.

Should Bredesen be reelected gun owners need to remind him of the NRA's support and demand that he stop Naifeh's blatant attacks on our rights. Naifeh sends most gun related bills to the anti-gun Constitutional Protection committee knowing those bills will never come out of committee.

Bredesen must be held accountable for the actions of his cohorts in the Tennessee Assembly. Of course since he won’t be allowed to run for reelection again (should he be elected this time) he, like Naifeh may ignore us with impunity.

Bredesen won't get any votes from me regardless of his NRA rating.

I think the reason Bredesen is being endorsed is twofold.

1. His record on guns is acceptable.
2. He's an incumbent.

However, I agree that if Bredesen wants our votes, something must be done about Naifeh.

In my personal opinion, Bredesen got a good rating because, in part, he is an incumbent but more significantly because there is a overwhelming probability that he will win - after all - he has tons of money of his own to spend in addition to all of the non-democrats who crossed over to fund his campaigns.

In such situations, some might argue it is better to maintain a working relationship rather than endorse the "better" candidate on the issue.

I wont be voting For Bredesen and I kinda like him , but he must pay for Naifeh.

Since Im a Republican, I wouldnt normally be voting for Bredesen anyway, but think he has done a good job in past and am not totally against him. But Im not sure how we can hold Bredesen accountable for Naifehs actions. Should we not instead hold Naifeh accountable for his own actions and put together a united front to inform others of his anti-American tactics; and work (not just vote) to oust him from office. I have run into untold numbers of people here in Covington that praise him for "all he's done for us", but when pushed "cant tell me ONE thing he's done for us" I then proceed to inform them of some of the things he's done against us as he plays "God" in Nashville. When that one bill made it out of committee to the floor and he refused to let it be voted on the floor because "HE" said so; and then it made it to the floor anyway and people who sponsered it voted against it because they were scared of his retaliation. . . kinda proved my point. He acts like he's "God" Some voted for him anyway because he's a democrat and they vote democrat even if it means voting for Adolf Hitler (Republicans do the same thing by the away). But shouldnt we hold ALL politicians responsible for they're own actions. OK Im through ranting now.Whew feel better. I'll feel really GREAT when his majesty is finally gone.

lassante, unfortunately you are correct. Perhaps it's time for a House rules change, eh ? (I know, easier speculated than actually carried out.)
