Hello
I live in Gray and would like to see if there is any interest in creating a tricities chapter.
Please message me if you have any interest.
Thanks
Joe

Joe -
I just posted a "yes" vote and found I am a majority of one. I live in Erwin. FYI, the idea has been floated in the past with no success; I guess our Tri-Cities demographics just don't add up to an adequate number of like-minded folks willing to join/belong to an "organization" even to promote a common cause. Let me know how it goes.
BTW, I am a life member of NRA, GOA, and LEAA; certified instructor in the HCP and TWRA Hunter Safety programs; and a member of the Unaka Rod and Gun Club. Of course, I also hold a valid TN Handgun Carry Permit.

Perhaps we can increase the response if I include this inquiry on the TFALAC alert this week. Are either of you interested in being the point of contact?

Though I live in Russellville (near Morristown) I've supported several attempts to start a Tri Cities chapter. I supplied a mailing list of current/former TFA members thinking that a personal invitation would help. As far as I know that mailing was not done.
Being the former NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator for Tennessee's first Congressional district I have quite a few contacts in that area that might be interested. If ya'll decide to have a start up meeting I'll certainly help get the word out.

I would be interested in hosting an organizational meeting to implement a strategic plan for starting a local chapter. If we can develop a good start up plan we could kickoff a successful new membership meeting. It may take a couple of organizational meetings to be prepared for a godd start up meeting. If interested in helping please contact me at

Based on personal experience in starting the Lakeway chapter (Morristown and surround counties) be prepared for a low first turn out, particularly if you don't use a mailing to invite current and former TFA members in your area.
Don't hesitate to use the community calendars of print and electronic media.
