Shelby County Range CLOSED!

I found out today that the Shelby County Public Shooting Range at Shelby Farms has been permanently closed.
I went there today to check on a rumor I had heard that it would close. I found the gate locked and nobody home. I then went to the Ranger Station and the lady at the front desk confirmed that the range has been closed permanently. Budget cuts she said. (yeah, right )
Apparently this happened last week. No annoucement, no notice, no nothing. They just quitely locked the gate and walked away.

I went by to check Sunday. Yep, no sign, no notice, no kiss.

The range was close to operating in the black and I'm convinced that there is plenty of BS that OUR MONEY is spent on that wharton uses to buy votes with. The most abominable example being the well-paid-gang-banger-worship-temple downtown that MILLIONS of dollars of OUR MONEY have been thrown into, outside of the tax-payer-backed bonds. MILLIONS extorted from our mortgage payments, everyday purchases and even our utility bills. (now it's coming out that not all the MLG&W money went to subsidize basketball, a lot is also flowing into willie's pocket) The local political pimps will spare no expense (of OUR MONEY) for basketball but they couldn't keep our range open. OK wharton & willie - there's one more reason to speed up our evacuation from The Mogadishu of the West.
Say good-by to your tax base!

That range has ALWAYS made a profit. Granted it wasn't much of a profit, but it did manage to pay its own way.
Devious people with their own agenda doctored the books. I was informed by an insider that a portion of Shelby Farms capital expeditures for last year were charged to the range in spite of the fact that not one penny of it was actually spent on the range. So it appeared, on paper anyway, that the range was operating at a major loss.
This is all about GREED! That property is worth millions! Mark my words, it won't be long before the County decides to sell that property. The most likely excuse will be that they don't have the money for an EPA mandated clean up of the lead contamination. Shortly after that you can expect construction to start on high dollar luxury condos.
Think about that for a minute. A luxury home outside of the city, yet the city is only minutes away. Added bonus: Shelby Farms is right across the street. It would be yuppie heaven! The developer could demand any price they want AND they would get it!
Budget cuts my ass! This is all about money!
