Off-topic posts

Lately, there have been several posts made concerning topics that do not have a direct bearing on firearms issues in general, and more
specifically, Tennessee firearms issues. These topics have been locked, and administrative notes posted in them, explaining why. There have
been questions raised about where to post off-topic comments, and a "General Discussion" type subforum has even been considered, but rejected.
Let me explain it here, so that everyone will understand our goal:
This is the discussion forum for the Tennessee Firearms Association. Firearms issues, specifically Tennessee Firearms issues, are our sole raison d'etra. Our mission is to provide a reliable location for our members to obtain and share information, comments, and insights on legislation, posted locations, and other topics of interest that are firearms-related.
While the Obama HealthCare bill is indeed a topic worthy of discussion, not here, unless there are links to firearms issues in it. There are numerous other forums for free-for-all political discussions, and many of you are members at some of them.
We want to keep our focus sharp on firearms issues that affect us as Tennesseans, and not broaden or soften that focus to include things that are not even remotely germane to our mission. We don't want this to become a forum where any political topic is fair game.
I request both your understanding and cooperation in keeping this forum focused.
Thanks.
