TN Gun Owners censoring TFAOnline

I know that many TFA members also participate in the web site operated under the name TN Gun Owners. I ended up there after doing a normal news search through Google and ended up on a thread where several of you have posted. What seems to have happened is that people have posted from time to time posts that reference "tennesseefirearms" or "tfaonline". I ran across several posts that had links to tfaonline's forum. What seems to be happening over there is that the administrators have apparently listed "tfaonline" as a censored or banned word so that it is substituted with ********* rather than the characters you type once the post is submitted. This keeps people from posting links back to tfaonline and also breaks those links if they are posted.

I try to encourage people to share the information we gather and publish by asking that when you take information we generate and share it on other sites that you post references back to TFAOnline. At present, TN Gun Owners is the only site I am aware of that - for reasons that are not stated on that site - has censored TFAOnline to prohibit people from making references to TFA or let others have easy access to this information.

I guess they have their reasons to do this but its not clear why they would want to interrupt people's posts or try to keep people from reading information that is posted here.

Just be aware that if you reference or post about TFA or TFAOnline on that site that the posts may be broken or your posts may be censored.

I found that out recently, as my sig had a link in it for the TFA. No warning was given, it just became banned one day.

Based on some of the threads I have seen, it appears they may be wanting to become an active political organization, but not be too interested in working with other groups such as the TFA, and may choose instead to compete with us. I would hope they would see the wisdom in all of us working together if such is the current plan they are making, though I am not sure what the long-term goals of that site are. I could be misunderstanding them, and indeed I hope I am. Gun owners should work together, and for them to refuse to be a part of the team because of ego would be silly. Another possibility, one that I lean towards, is that they are just over-all a bit more liberal, and less willing to make the same stands we are. (Possibly a bit of AHSA type infection may be happening with them as well.)

If they had a consistently applied policy relating to linking out to third party sites, that would be one thing but it appears that they are focused or limited to TFA. Not sure why or what purpose it serves. We are not their competition - actually, I did not realize that they were in the business of selling information.
