I still fail to understand how an international agreement can usurp our Constitution... Anyone care to explain it to me? I truely don't understand.

If the Senate ratifies the treaty, then we are bound by the edicts, that simple. You and I, and our 2nd Amendment rights as Americans are hindrances to the administration, their accent to total power is the goal.
Mao Tse-tung said it best, "'Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." They want to be the sole control of said orifice.

So, I'm guessing we'll have to lobby our congresspersons to vote against ratification.

Got this response from Senator Corker:
Thank you for taking the time to contact my office to share your concerns about the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms (CIFTA) treaty. Your input is important to me and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.
As you may know, this treaty was negotiated by the Clinton administration, but was never ratified by the Senate. It has serious implications for the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans and could significantly impact United States sovereignty. President Obama has voiced his support for ratification of this treaty, but currently there is no treaty resolution pending in the Senate.
Please know that the right to own firearms for shooting, hunting, and self-protection is important to me as a Tennessean and as an American. I believe in safeguarding the rights of law-abiding American citizens. I will be a consistent voice for the second amendment, and I will fight attempts to weaken those rights that are granted in the Constitution. Please also take note of the attached "Policy Points" document to learn more about the steps I have taken to protect our 2nd Amendment rights.
Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me.
Sincerely,
Bob Corker
United States Senator
