Middle Tennessee Ranges

As a kid growing up in Middle Tennessee my dad would take me to the owl hollow gun range. Now that I'm out of college and back in mid-tn I wanted to go back and start learning my way around a handgun. Well, sadly, the club is without a range.

In my search for somewhere to get some range practice in before getting my handgun carry permit I found the new uselton indoor range in Franklin. It has really nice facilities but it was a little to expensive for my current situation. So does anyone have any suggestions for indoor/outdoor ranges in mid-tn that are cheap... heh. I'm thinking about just heading out of town to a friend's farm to get a days practice in before the class.

I am taking my handgun carry permit class at Uselton and it seems like it will be a great class. They seem like a very professional place that gets it all done in one day after work. It's 4pm-12am indoors and they provide dinner. I thought it was a pretty cool deal and it is in a great location for me.

I went to stones river the other day and I don't have enough good things to say about it. The volunteer RSO's were amazing. They were so helpful and polite. I'll be spending much more time there! Does anyone know the reason they don't allow silhouette targets? I wanted to take the AQT appleseed targets but I assume they are considered sillhouette's...
