Virginia rescinds TN reciprocity?

Effective Immediately The State of Virginia Not Honoring The Tennessee Handgun Permit
August 15, 2008
The state of Virginia has removed the state of Tennessee from their State Police website regarding rciprocity on carrying concealed weapons. We have been advised after speaking to the Virginia State Police that it is NOT a glitch on their website.
As of August 2008, the state of Virginia does not honor the Tennessee Handgun Permit.
We are awaiting a telephone call from the Virginia State Police Legal Staff to try and find out the reasons for this change.
Tennessee Handgun Permit Holders that go into Virginia should carry their handgun in the 'OPEN' because Virginia allows open carry. However, be advised that carrying in a concealed manner is not allowed until this situation is resolved.
