What can we do to drive more traffic here? Do we need additional topic areas?

I do not think we need more areas.

I think we need name recognition.

Do we have some stickers we can put on our vehicles for free advertising (guess I should know answer, but sorry I dont). How about shirts? We could elect more liberals to steal our rights so people can awake from their "that will never happen" sleep. Most people I talk with think your a loony tune when you talk about the things going on in Nashville (or Washington for that matter) concerning your gun rights and dont seem to care. Its sad. Will be glad to help, just need some direction.

TFA does have car window decals and sells both T-shirts and polo shirts as well as caps.

The best way to get the word out on who we are and what we stand for is to contact editors and your elected officals on a regular basis.

One of the online groups which I am involved in is very supportive of the TFA ( )... I believe there was some discussion about working together on this, in the www. We discuss TFA issues regularly, and many of the mid-tn members (including the admin and mods, which I am one) attend the Nashville meetings.

Let us know how we can help.

Another way to increase exposure to the general public is to increase the number of chapters throughout the state.

The four active chapters (Shelby County, Knoxville, Chattenooga and Lakeway) are a good start and with the interest in the Nashville area chapter is good. If we can get one in the Tri Cities area we'd have pretty good coverage. When these chapters publish their meetings in the media it surely reminds gun owners we're out there.

Press releases are good but of course depend on the media deciding to print them. Individuals writing for their local papers and doing radio shows are inexpensive.

Going as a group (with TFA shirts) to a FONRA dinner gets some recognition as well; and don't forget the gun shows.

Informative posters in gun stores, ranges, etc?
Advertisements in newspapers (sports section)?
A few well placed billboards?

To get started, maybe 8 1/2 x 11 handbills that members can distribute.
Put it on the site & we can print a few ourselves & distribute to supporting businesses that we frequent. Maybe 3x5's that can be posted on bulletin boards? Members can submit designs for approval?

Don't schedule meetings at the same business EVERY month!
That doesn't help get the word out. Require that a small TFA poster be present near the meeting place. Even if you can't carry there - it's the law - the business didn't make the law.

Some thoughts.
ONE person told me about TFA. That's all I've ever heard about it.
I've never attended a meeting. It's allways at the same place & time and it's to far for me to go on the weeknight & time.

I looked at the main page for a long time checking out all the information and links going down the page before I noticed the link up top for the forum. Maybe a little redesign with some information about carry laws and such? it could be that there are lots of folks passing by looking for quick information and not wanting to hit the states web site and navigate in that realm. I liked PDO just for that fact, I could scroll the Tennessee page and it had a decent laymen's breakdown that could be used for reference.

I hope I haven't stepped on toes or anything...just tossing some ideas.
