My letter to Governor Bredesen...

Postby benburke » Thu May 14, 2009 5:45 pm

Dear Governor Bredesen,

I know guns are always a hot debate between Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, however, facts and statistics undoubtedly, always support allowing law abiding citizens to protect themselves.

Tennessee's crime rate is lower than other states because citizens with guns deter crimes. It's that simple. And when law abiding citizens exercise their Second Amendment right, criminals are afraid to carry out their crimes when they believe they will received armed resistance.

As governor or our great state, I hope you will analyze all the facts, and while your signature may not be needed for this bill (HB962) to become law, your signature will mean a great deal to law abiding citizens that have fought hard for many years for this bill to be become Tennessee law.

Sincerely,

Ben Burke

Good job. With a topic that so many are passionate about its important to remain level-headed. Nice work!
