A number of variables factor into comfortable carry, no matter the style: Size & weight of the gun, belt, design of holster,
on what you are seated, your build, etc.
I've successfully, and comfortably, carried a full-size 1911 .45 and a Browning HiPower in an Alessi IWB (though not at the
same time!), a full-size Beretta 92FS (thicker than the 1911) in a Ted Blocker IWB, and several other guns in a generic-fit
Jak-Slide by Jackass Leather (predecessors to Galco). All were on various gunbelts by Alessi, Blocker, or Kramer (remember,
the belt is an important part of the equation).
You have to be careful where you position the gun on your hip. Too far to the rear, & it will prod you mercilessly in the kidney.
Vehicle seatbelts, specifically those on the driver's side, can cause problems, especially buckets with a deeply curved seatback.
Chairs with arms also occasionally present problems, again depending on the design of the chair.
Bear in mind this can be a problem with OWB carry, too.
