So you are saying that mankind has been here before. Let's hope that we can genetically modify sheep into sheepdogs.

And just as with sheep, we are likely destined to see a situation where only a small number, as in the American Revolution, perceive the risk and respond to it. Others will be destroyed, politically, economically, and otherwise, before the are aware of the wolves among them.

I had a good friend who is a southern Democrat who commented to me that the Obama administration may be the strongest catalyst that the conservative movement could have prayed for. From all appearances, he is right. Obama enchants those who vote with emotion rather than intellect just as Hitler and other demagogues have too frequently and successfully done to the great costs of their nations and in some instances the world.

I don't think your point can really be argued against. We have indeed become a nation of group thinkers/sheep. My only problem with many "conservatives" is their tendency to go to sleep when they perceive "their guy" as being in charge. For 8 years, the Bush admin spent more than all previous admins combined. He TRIPLED the size of the BATF. He endorsed a reauthorization of the AWB. Whether it was political posturing or not, he stated plainly that a ban was needed to "help fight the war on terror". The "conservatives" had basic free reign for 5 years and did very little to advance true conservativism. Tax and spend....tax and spend....OH WOOPS, now we are broke.....more taxes and spending....more taxes and spending. Obama has merely taken the reigns of a vehicle that's been careening out of control for decades...and now it appears he's bee-lining for the rocks. Just my 2 cents...

I agree Kevin. When it came to Bush 2, its was unfortunately from the perspective of many conservatives a vote against Gore then Kerry rather than a vote for Bush. That event was misperceived by the Republican party as support rather than opposition. Then, the conservatives and independents who helped keep Gore and Kerry out failed to demand accountability from those that they helped put in power.

i agree with you john, also it seems to me that the fed goes along with the group or groups putting up the biggest amount of arguements sort of like a panicked parent trying to calm a child, the more you see the illegals protesting the more you hear about amnesty for all those theiving criminals they are now calling undocumented aliens, instead of criminals, i'm outraged that if we break a law we are held to the highest degree of accountability yet, when the fed does so,, it's not a priority, am i the only one in this country outraged by this sort of thing, anyway, the more your heard the better off, they treat things like shut that crying baby up!!!!, or am i imagining this also, forget about stats bearing out the facts and rational thinking based in fact... sheeeshhhh, in summation, keep writing the legal crooks and complain,,, errrr i mean your rep's and senators,,
