I sent an e-mail to the boy via his web site:
Sir:
If this vote is true, as copied below, it is unacceptable to gun owners throughout the State.
Please re-consider and accept the fact that gun owners, especially carry permit holders, are law abiding citizens that are doing their best, through representatives like yourself, to maintain their Second Amendment rights.
********
Representative Waymon 'Kent' Williams repeatedly refused to provide any responses to citizens on the issues through the 2008 Political Courage Test when asked to do so by national leaders of the political parties, prominent members of the media, Project Vote Smart President Richard Kimball, and Project Vote Smart staff
Gun Issues
(Back to top) Indicate which principles you support (if any) regarding guns.
a) Maintain and strengthen the enforcement of existing state restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.
b) Ease state restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.
c) Repeal state restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.
d) Allow citizens to carry concealed guns.
e) Require background checks on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows.
X f) Require a license for gun possession.
g) Other or expanded principles
Please reconsider your stance. 250,000 carry permit holders will feel the results of your actions and many more gun owners would be effected by your stance. The X is in the wrong spot and there are a number of Xes missing. I am not referring to question (a).
This, as you know, has been a very touchy subject now with the new administration in Washington and many millions of people are taking it more to heart. Most of them are previous gun owners and NEW gun owners as a result of the election. Many of them are right here in Tennessee.
