GRIM REAPER OF GUN RIGHTS RESPONDS

Postby Pat McGarrity » Fri Aug 04, 2006 1:12 pm

Election years produce some curious statements from politicians. Following is another quote from Rep. Janis Sontany (D-Nashville - Chair of the Oxymoronic Constitutional "Protections" Subcommittee), who kills all pro gun legislation, in this powerful subcommittee before getting to the floor for a vote, on behalf of the Anti-Gun Speaker, Jimmy Naifeh (D-Covington).

Here, Rep. Sontany is hypocritically responding to my criticism of her question; "Why would you go somewhere dangerous where you would need a gun?", in the context of armed citizen, Chris Cope, saving several victims from a crazed, knife wielding attacker at an Arlington grocery store. I'm going to meet with Chris Cope today to ask him to join us at our next Shelby County TFA meeting, August 17th.

Here is an e-mail from Rep. Sontany:

I think that is great and I applaud the citizen for his heroic effort. I have never opposed carrying a gun where alcohol is not being served.

Thanks for your note.

Janis Sontany

State Representative – District 53

Well, we at the Tennessee Firearms Association have a long memory. Just one example of Naifeh using Sontany to violate our Civil Rights is, that on April 5th, 2006, the Anti-Gun Tennessee House Speaker, Jimmy Naifeh, had HB3857 killed in the Constitutional "Protections" Subcommittee, which he has stacked with his leftist, gun grabbing lackeys, including the Chair; Janis -“Why would you go somewhere dangerous where you would need a gun”? - Sontany (D-Nashville).

This common sense bill would have protected you from having your firearms confiscated, and gun and ammunition sales suspended, in a time of emergency, as the state government of Louisiana did during Hurricane Katrina. If that is not opposition to our right to defend ourselves ("where alcohol is not being served"); what is???

Either she forgot that she killed HB3857, or she is lying.

I look forward to more "pearls of wisdom" from Rep. Sontany this election year. Although she beat her opponent in the primary yesterday, her actions and statements will have political fallout for her gun grabbing comrades.

Lastly, Rep. Sontany is one of "The Fabulous Five" bureaucrats in the "Tennessee Guerilla Women", that brag on their use of political power to steer our state to the far left. Please don't take my word for it, see for yourself at:

They support like minded blogs and even have articles supporting, and a link to, Anti-Gun Propagandist; Michael Moore. Moore, by the way, is another hypocrite-elitist, who's own armed body guard was arrested at a New York airport for carrying a firearm in a prohibited area. Do as they say, not as they do...
