So I guess HB22225 is dead too? Is there anything else we can do here in 2005, maybe on the "Baker v. Carr" points? I hate to have to wait until 2006 after all the e-mailings, phone calls, and personal meetings I have had about this issue.

HB2225 is not dead yet and Naifeh has perhaps few options on how to kill it if we get the motion made. The real issue is whether we will have 66 to vote to bypass the committee system.

With the comittee system set up as it is we have esentially the situation in the TN House as currently exists in th US Senate..... A few( 3 to be exact ) members are able to deny the house a vote on legislation that the majority of members have signed on as sponsors.

We MUST contact as many House members as possible to get the 66 votes needed to get this bill out of comittee.

We may be able to utilize the fillibuster controversy in the US Senate to apply pressure to TN House members?
