New shooter looking to shoot a few different guns

I am about to purchase my first handgun and have had a few problems finding some of the models that i am looking at buying. I am planning on using the gun for conceal and carry.

I am interested in shooting the sig pro in 40 cal, hk usp compact in 40 cal, and any compact 1911 i can find to shoot.

I will pay for the range fees and throw in a box of ammo.

Hi, unfortunately I don't own one of the models you're looking at, but Range USA (http://www.rangeusa.com/index.html) rents guns, and I believe has the models you are looking for. I carry a Glock 23, .40 cal, and a Kel-Tec .380 backup.

They also are where we hold our Shelby County TFA meetings and we meet next Thursday, 2-17 at 7:00 PM. Our guest speaker is Chief Joe Ruff, Director of Training for the Shelby County Sheriff's Dept. (The 5th largest in the U.S.) Chief Ruff could give you a wealth of information on carry. I know a thing or two myself, as I've had my permit since 1998 and have had over 100 hours of tactical training. If I can get there early enough, you're welcome to "test drive" my Glock. I have been to range usa severl times. They had several full sized guns (at least the last time i was their, a few weeks ago) to rent, but since i was looking for somthing a little smaller i decided to ask around a little bit.

Can anyone show up in this meeting or do you need to be a member? I would actually be intrested in hearing the man talk. I would be intrested in his personal views on carrying.

I actually have already give the glock 23 a test drive (i rented one they had there at range usa), but i appericate the help.
