Very general question about carry in the Smokey mountains

Postby baconja » Sat Feb 07, 2015 11:46 am

My girlfriend and i intend on staying at a bnb listing in TN. It is an isolated cabin so I'm wondering about the TN state laws concerning transportation in cars, carrying on person, and in the home. In addition, does TN recognize FL ccw permits, and if hiking in the woods, specifically in the state park, can i carry for protection? Thanks to all who may help with this question.

Tennessee honors handgun permits from all states. (Tenn Code Ann 39-17-1351(r)).

Tennessee (Tenn. Code Ann. 39-17-1311) allows as a matter of state law the possession by handgun permit holders (including those possessing under reciprocity) to possess the handgun in state and federal parks. This does not necessarily include specific buildings, like guest centers, but only covers the park in general.

Please contact the park rangers on any specific rules relating to carrying on hikes and trials.
