There really is not a good answer.
Most of the weapons laws are in the Tennessee Code under 39-17-1301 and following.
However, there are also many laws in the wildlife resources act, in various other statutory provisions, in numerous state regulations and also in many local ordinances at the city and county level that our general assembly refuses to pre-empt.
There is also confusion because, for example, under state law if you have a handgun permit, you can carry in state parks BUT state parks are not required post signs that clearly state this. Instead, old signs that say simply "no guns" are posted in most parks under the theory that permit holders would know those signs do not apply to them.
Hire a lawyer. Have them ride with you.
