A Big Thanks

To a member here. I saw you at the Stones River Range. You had a really neat 9mm subgun.

You let my friend's kids (ages 14 and 11) fire your subgun on full auto. They are still smiling about that one!




The bit of irony here is that my friend, Ernie, asked me if I knew you right after I'd introduced myself to you.
I said, "no, just met the guy. But he has a TFA hat, so I know he's good to go."
5 minutes later you give his kids the thrill of a lifetime.

PS - that was their first day shooting ever. They were already hooked - but now they can NEVER forget!

It's stories like this that make me proud to be a member of TFA! I pray these kids will learn how guns have kept our country free (and safe)! I have many tools, but I'm only good at using them if I practice.

Aww shucks. It's no big deal. The Sterling is a very easy subgun to learn on. It's just like shooting a low-recoil rifle, except it keeps going.

Stone's River is the closest outdoor range to the house, and I just don't enjoy shooting indoors as much. I don't always let other folks shoot my subguns, but the kids were well-behaved and polite. Also, call me subversive. Some day they will hear some idiot talking head refer to machine guns as 'illegal', or watch some movie actor hose down a zillion bad guys with a huge muzzle flash and shower of brass. I want them to remember the average Joe who let them fire his subgun with no big fuss, and how it went 'put-put-put' in their hands without any muzzle flash or blast. Maybe then they will realize that when it comes to firearms, movie and TV folks are full of cr@p.
