Once again a reporter has their head up their butt. It doesn't allow, it just says there are no health or other issues with an employee carrying. A business can still be posted and a business can still have an employee policy against carrying.

As I read it , the only real impact seems to be that it is not enough for employers to have a stated or written policy against carrying at work, they must also have the workplace properly posted. I certainly don't see any new right to carry in this bill.

I can tell you another thing it does. As someone already pointed out, the media is having a field day with this. It would have been nice if we could have kept most of the gun favorable legislation a bit below the radar especially a real parking lot bill. Now this thing has blown the lid off that with it's erronious headline. This bill DOES NOT do what the headline says it does but you can be assured that when the REAL parking lot bill comes up, the media will make sure it is front and center. It also makes it harder for Harwell to help us if she ever was. She made some very public statements about pro-gun legislation and now this could put her on the spot to keep her word.

It has now passed out of the House Consumer and Employee Affairs committee with two "NO" votes both from Memphis, imagine that. G.A. Hardaway and Johnnie Turner voted "NO", no surprises there.
