Regions Bank Posting policy

Postby n24wheel » Fri Sep 10, 2010 1:18 pm

Regions Bank has adopted a policy to post their business. Visit your local Regions and voice your concerns and back it up with a letter where the decision was made in Birmingham AL If it is not repealed there are many other banks out there.

To contact the Board or any Board member, please write to the Secretary of the Company at the following address:

I don't bank with Regions so I doubt they really care what a non-customer thinks. :)

That said, seemed to me I read somewhere that banks/financial institutions were always off-limits to firearms...I'm not sure where I read that...maybe I was just hallucinating! :)

Banks are the same as any other regular business when it comes to Permit Holders. What you probably saw was that you cannot carry in a "Federal Reserve" which would be a place like Fort Knox.

I may also be confusing our laws regarding banks/financial institutions with another state's laws...I routinely travel and whenever I'm planning a trip I always do a quick review of each stat's laws to help keep me from tripping up somewhere unintentionally. :)

I have gone to TN Valley Federal Credit Union that is not posted in Dayton and setup an account as I fear that Regions is not going to care.

Here is the response from Regions. They clearly have not researched the success of the permit programs.

Remember if you do change banks you need to write the address at the top of this thread and let them know why and always be polite in the letter you write. If you just change banks they will not have the feedback as to why resulting in the policy not being changed.

I think MorganKeegan is a Region's affiliated company. I canceled my MK account today. I wish it was because of their posting policy, but alas, it was because of poor money management.

Either way, I am completely shod of Regions and Company

Please forward this to your Board members. Thanks Mr. Burch, My name is David. I wrote you a letter on Sept 10th on the new posting policy on firearms. Thank you for your quick response. As in your letter workplace violence and domestic violence is on the rise but documentation shows it is not by people that are legally armed and anyone with a history of that cannot get a permit. Courthouses in Tennessee, it is legal to carry as long as we are not in a court room as long as the courthouse isn’t posted so in many of them did not post and I can go in and buy my tags etc. but just cannot go on the floor where the courtrooms are. Airports, government buildings, it is still illegal to carry but all these restrictions where in place pre-permit program and as you know the government is very slow on changes. However the government has started to recognize that permit holders are not a threat or danger and slowly have started lifting restrictions where it is now legal to carry, fo

I have already taken my money out and gone to another bank or I would. I emailed him back told him his thinking was flawed and cited specific reasons why and the laws explaining as such. I never got a response back.
