He is Back! (Leonard Embody in The Tennessean)

He has returned yet again, just like herpes. Evidently Leonard Embody is suing the state to get his HCP back. Here is a link to the error-ridden article in The Tennessean:

While I have no sympathy for a limelight seeking hound like Leonard Embody, I don't believe he has actually violated any laws has he and that his HCP was suspended on a purely administrative move???

I bring this up in connection with the desire of many, me included, to change the law so that any person who can legally own a firearm (isn't already a convicted criminal, etc.) can carry without a permit - were that the case right now, Embody could still carry, correct?

For some reason, that makes me nervous.

If we go to Vermont-style carry (no permit required) what will other states use for reciprocity? Notice that Tennessee does not show Vermont as a recognized state? We need to go to Alaska-style carry laws whereby no permit is required, but one is issued if requested so as to allow for carry in reciprocating states. If you are not leaving Alaska, you have nothing to worry about - no paperwork, etc. Just carry responsibly.

It is important that we be careful what we wish for, or else suffer the consequenses of our failure in understanding.
