Burbank Police Officer acted Dangerously (In my Opinion)

Postby Dan Lee » Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:05 am

Take a close look at what this Burbank Cop on the driver's side does during an attempt to stop a stolen vehicle/attempted murder suspect.. Note that an innocent civilian is in a car directly behind where he takes his ill advised & unnecessary shot at the fleeing suspect, who COULD NOT have possible run him over.. I don't care about the thug they were chasing, so much as innocent people who could have been shot because this bonehead couldn't wait to shoot someone.. The department is already justifying his actions of course..

Here's another view.. The suspect may have been "Armed & Dangerous", but so is that Cop who fired that shot on a crowded street, ignoring the fact that a civilian vehicle on the other side of his target was his "backstop"..

If that innocent driver had been shot by the cop, this would likely be another, "Oops, we killed your mommy.. Sorry, but we have immunity from prosecution, so best wishes to you & your shattered family.."

Update: 12:53 AM
Man.. I just went back & paused this video at the moment the window shatters in the suspect's vehicle.. The innocent person in the car on the other side of that is lucky to still be alive..
If Governments feel a need to impose "Gun Control" on people, they might want to start with their own employees first..

I see an out of control thug who was putting dozens if not hundreds of lives at risk with his attempt to outrun police and who was likely far more risky to innocents unlucky enough to be in his way than this one shot taken by this one officer.

I see a thug who nearly ran over the cop who fired. While the shot was potentially dangerous to those on the other side of the vehicle, I can understand why the officer felt justified in taking the shot in an attempt to keep the maniac from prolonging the chase.

The police are investigating so why not let them finish their investigation and see what they determine before throwing the officer under the bus.

I see a Neo-Con thinker that loves Governmental authority, & will make any & all excuses for their behavior....

I see the beginnings of another sniping session...and it better not go any farther.

I changed the Topic on this post, because I should not have said that the Officer "shouldn't have guns".. A more measured statement should have been used.. It is not my intention to offend Police officers who act in a safe, & disciplined manner, & as we used to say "To SERVE & Protect".. My apologies to anyone who was offended by that.. I do feel strongly however that this officer is either poorly trained, & needs remedial training, or that he may not be able to handle the stress of that situation. It is not for everyone.. I'm not sure I could handle it either..

We can all have a lot of fun sniping at each other, but that is for PMs if you really want to have fun. (Especially since I can see now it isn't going to be gun related, but the current sniping subject is police tactics, which is not TFA's purpose).

Cops abuse their authority routinely (which is another very worthy issue to discuss, just not here, unless the forum changes the paramaters of what we discuss), in this case it also puts innocents at risk and we would be crucified if we did anything remotely similar, but it isn't gun related so not really a TFA subject.

Lastly, closed.
