30 year old range shut down due to noise complaint?

Postby SomeGuy » Sat Dec 20, 2008 4:57 am

I had heard Montlake Classic Clays was having issues, but I honestly expected them to win, I was rather surprised to find out they were ordered to shut down this week. I did my hunter safety course there just a few months ago!

Does anyone have more information on what happened?

The case that went to trial was not the noise case but one brought by the county over whether the range was properly zoned. Talk to the Hamilton County commissioners and zoning authorities.

Is it Hamilton county? I think the range is located in Sequatchie, just over the line.

Even if it is Hamilton, it won't help any. Our Commissioners, regardless of party, suck by a 2-1 margin.

They have since opened back up. Montlake Sporting Clays is in Soddy Daisy TN which for those of you not familiar with the area that is just outside of Chattanooga but is in fact in Hamilton County.
