Morris Carothers, local activist has asked for our assistance in helping to convince the City Council to rescind the Resolution passed denying HCP Holders the right to self protection in City Parks controlled by that entity.

The next Council meeting is scheduled for Oct. 13th, we will be seeking interested individuals to attend the meeting to advocate for the Constitutional Rights of the Citizens to provide for their own protection under the Law.

Deck was stacked again at the Selmer Board of Alderman Meeting tonight. I would say that 95% of the full house was in favor of rescinding the Resolution Opting Out. However, regardless of what the voters, and taxpayers wanted, they simply voted along the same lines as the original, 3 to 2 to uphold the ban.

I suggested to local 2nd Amendment Rights supporters that they wage a campaign starting with contacting their friends and neighbors, and get active in their community. I believe that the impetus is there, they just need to get organized and motivate their acquaintances, so that three men do not rule where the people want different results.

Voting against the interest of law abiding, freedom loving Citizens were:

Paul Simpson, Edward Smith, and Lloyd Tennyson.

Voting in favor of Cosntitutional Rights were:

John Smith and John Finlayson.

It would be wise to remember the positions of these individuals in the next election.
