Several Tennessee counties and municipalities have started the process to opt-out of the new park carry law before its effective date (Tuesday, September 1). We have included an updated list of cities and counties that are considering opting-out or have scheduled hearings on the issue. Please make your voice heard to keep this from happening.
The best way to get your opinion through to your local officials is to contact them immediately. Please respectfully urge them to oppose any proposal or resolution that would prohibit law-abiding permit holders from protecting themselves in local parks.

On Monday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m., Smith County Commission will consider Resolution No. 07-2009-06 which would, if passed, prohibit law-abiding permit holders from carrying a firearm for self-defense in county parks. This meeting is open to the public, so we encourage you to attend in support of our Second Amendment rights. This is not a hearing, so those in attendance will be unable to speak directly to the commission, but may be afforded the opportunity to talk to members before the start of the meeting.

Several Tennessee counties and municipalities have started the process to opt-out of the new park carry law before its effective date (Tuesday, September 1). We have included a list of cities and counties that are considering opting-out or have scheduled hearings on the issue. Please make your voice heard to keep this from happening.
The best way to get your opinion through to your local officials is to contact them immediately. Please respectfully urge them to oppose any proposal or resolution that would prohibit law-abiding permit holders from protecting themselves in local parks.
