Tennessee Localities Continue to Try Opting Out of New Park Carry Law!

Several Tennessee counties and municipalities have started the process to opt-out of the new park carry law before its effective date (Tuesday, September 1). We have included an updated list of cities and counties that are considering opting-out or have scheduled hearings on the issue. Please make your voice heard to keep this from happening.

The best way to get your opinion through to your local officials is to contact them immediately. Please respectfully urge them to oppose any proposal or resolution that would prohibit law-abiding permit holders from protecting themselves in local parks.

Kingston (Roane County)
On Tuesday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m., the City of Kingston City Council will hold a public work session on a resolution that would prohibit the lawful carry of a firearm by permit holders in city parks. The resolution, which is being put forward by Vice Mayor Teresa Ferguson,is number "5" on the proposed agenda. This meeting is open to the public, so we encourage you to attend in support of our Second Amendment rights.
